Heather Cassano

Heather Cassano is a senior from Baltimore, Maryland, and is majoring in Media Arts and Entertainment. She has just returned from a semester abroad in Denmark and loves to travel. Heather also has minors in Religious Studies and Sociology. She hopes to combine all of her interests into a career in documentary filmmaking.

Sean Dolan

Sean Dolan is an Elon senior majoring in Media Arts and Entertainment with a minor in History.  Last year, he spent the fall semester studying abroad in Florence, Italy, while also traveling to France and Austria.  Having worked on music video production and long-form news pieces, Sean looks to explore the documentary as an ideal blend of those interests.  He currently works as a public address announcer for Elon Athletics and hopes to enjoy a career of various video production works.  His favorite documentary is It Might Get Loud, and his hobbies include swimming, playing guitar, and being silly.

Devon Gailey – Recruitment

Devon Gailey is a rising sophomore from Thomasville, NC. She is working on her bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and Entertainment with a concentration in Cinema. She is also pursuing a double minor in Theater Arts and Multimedia Authoring. She is very excited and honored to be a part of the elondocs community and hopes to enhance her skill set in both filming and editing.

Mary Johnson – Publicity

Mary Johnson is a rising sophomore with a communication science major and a minor in business administration.  Mary loves how documentaries can illuminate unique perspectives and provide educational entertainment. She looks forward to learning more about how documentaries are created so she can create one that expresses a topic important. Mary also looks forward to recording and sharing the elondocs experience as a one of the publicity members on the team.

Bia Jurema – Publicity

Born and raised in Brazil, Bia Jurema now lives in Greensboro, North Carolina where she is a Media Arts&Entertainment/Cinema major and a Communications Fellow at Elon University. Minoring in Human Service Studies and as a Periclean Scholar, Bia also looks forward to bringing about change through service. As an ambitious 19-year-old, Bia has always dreamt big. elondocs is another crucial step in her career that will allow her to not only grow as a person, but as a student of film.

Emma Kwiatkowski

Emma Kwiatkowski is a sophomore from Mendham, New Jersey.  She is majoring in Media Arts and Entertainment.  During her freshman year, she was a member of Cinelon, a host on WSOE, and is a co-founder of a comedy improvisation club that will begin in the fall.

Olivia Pohl

Olivia Pohl is a junior at Elon University. She is a Media Arts and Entertainment major with a concentration in narrative cinema. She grew up in southern California and attended high school in Dayton, Ohio. In all the places she has lived she was struck by the beauty of nature and the kindness of strangers, which inspires her in her work today. She has done production work on numerous student films and a couple professional feature length films. She is new to the documentary world, but is excited to take a new path and find stories based off real people/experiences.

Mason Sklut – Student Coordinator

Mason Sklut is a junior Media Arts & Entertainment major and Jewish Studies minor from Charlotte, North Carolina. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor photography, hiking, cooking, and learning about religions. A personal hero, Rabbi Heschel once said, “the opposite of good is not evil, but indifference,” which is a motto that Mason likes to live life by. As an aspiring documentary-maker, Mason wants to eradicate injustice and give a voice to those who are silenced in our society through his films.

Katherine Wise

Katherine Wise is a senior majoring in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast, and International Studies with a regional interest in Africa. She hopes to combine her interest in service and humanitarian affairs with visual story telling. In the future, she would like to work in the communications department for an international NGO or non-profit. In addition to elondocs, she’s working as the International Editor for the Pendulum and is the LINCS for Loaves and Fishes with EV! Volunteers.
